Bio

My writing (poetry, fiction, essays) has appeared in or is forthcoming in, ZYZZYVA, Chaparral, The Pedestal Magazine, Crab Creek Review, Phoebe, Santa Barbara Independent, The Chattahoochee Review, Askew Poetry Journal, SCBWI-LA blog, and elsewhere. I’ve been a multiple Glimmer Train Finalist, a Rona Jaffe Award semi-finalist, and was awarded a poetry fellowship to the Abroad Writers’ Conferences. I’ve attended Bread Loaf, the AWP, and am an active member of SCBWI. I am the author of the poetry chapbooks Nightmares With Moons (Pudding House Press) and, most recently, Valley Meditation (Finishing Line Press). My novel-in-progress won Runner Up in its middle grade category at the SCBWI-LA Skirball event, March, 2018. A 7th generation Californian, I live in Los Angeles with my husband, our tween, and a boisterous mini-zoo. Because I’m a hopeless thalassophile, my work tends to take place on/around/beneath our oceans. The beach fixes everything.
