My work (poetry, fiction, essays) appears or is forthcoming in, Zyzzyvva, Chaparral, The Pedestal Magazine, Crab Creek Review, Pool, Runes, Phoebe, Santa Barbara Independent, The Chattahoochee Review, Poetry NZ, Other Voices Int’l, anderbo.com, Askew Poetry Journal. and the SCBWI-LA blog. I’m the 2007 Abroad Writers’ Conferences Poetry Fellow and I’ve been a Finalist or Top 25-ist in several Glimmer Train contests. I’ve attended Bread Loaf, the AWP, the Big Sur Children’s Writing Workshops and am an active member of SCBWI. I am the author of the poetry chapbooks Nightmares With Moons (Pudding House Press) and, most recently, Valley Meditation (Finishing Line Press). My novel-in-progress won Runner Up in its middle grade category at the SCBWI-LA Skirball event last March, 2018 (there was 1st place, and there was Runner Up–right on!). Currently, I am house-hunting for my middle-grade novel, Trouble Beneath The Waves, and completing the aforementioned middle-grade novel-in-progress. Ask me if I’m having fun writing it and I will reply, “Yes, 99% of the time”. I repeat: Right on. A 7th generation Californian, I live in the vast, heat-layered San Fernando Valley with Mr. Wonderful and our soon-to-be 5th Grader–and an ever-expanding mini-zoo.
