My work (poetry, fiction, essays) appears or is forthcoming in many journals, including, Zyzzyvva, Chaparral, The Pedestal Magazine, Pool, Runes, Phoebe, Santa Barbara Independent, The Chattahoochee Review, Poetry NZ, Other Voices Int’l, anderbo.com and Askew Poetry Journal. I’m the 2007 Abroad Writers’ Conferences Poetry Fellow and I’ve been a Finalist or Top 25-ist in several Glimmer Train contests. I’ve attended Bread Loaf, the AWP, the Big Sur Children’s Writing Workshops and I’m an active member of SCBWI. I am the author of the poetry chapbook, Nightmares With Moons, available from Pudding House Press. Currently, I am house-hunting for my middle-grade novel, Trouble Beneath The Waves, and revising my novel-for-adults, Freak’s Weather. A 7th generation Californian, I live in the vast, heat-layered San Fernando Valley with my husband, Kindergartner, and needy pets. When not writing, cooking, or playing Ninjas (again), I can be found tide pooling with my son, preferably until the sun goes down.
